Safety Features

The 2018 Honda Ridgeline utilizes a safety cell construction with three-dimensional high-strength frame around the passenger compartment.  This construction provides extra impact protection with a sturdy mounting location for door elements.  The Chevy Colorado uses a body-on-frame design.  The Honda Ridgeline also has technology safety features to set it apart.  On the Ridgeline RTL-E and Black Edition models, they come with a standard Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™).  This system can not only detect and alert the driver to a potential collision, but in the event the driver fails to react, the system can apply the brakes and avoid the collision all together.  The Chevy Colorado has a collision warning feature, but does not offer an automatic braking system.

Fuel Efficiency

Fuel efficiency is one of the factors every car buyer looks into on their next vehicle.  Comparing fuel efficiency between the 2018 Honda Ridgeline and the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, you’ll see that the Ridgeline is a step above.

Suspension

Riding over rough terrain can be tough, especially with a bad suspension system.  Luckily, the 2018 Honda Ridgeline has your covered.  The Ridgeline has a fully independent front and rear suspension which allows the suspensions to move independently to get the best grip on terrain.  The Chevrolet Colorado has a solid rear axle with a non-independent rear suspension.  To reduce bumpiness, the Ridgeline uses coil springs compared to leaf springs on the Colorado.  Coil springs compress slowly and evenly compared to the leaf springs.
